Wilberforce Chambers is looking to recruit a Marketing Assistant to assist the Marketing Manager and the clerking & business development teams in all marketing activities including the organisation of its busy programme of events.
 
Supporting the Marketing Manager you will have the opportunity to be involved in all areas of marketing including event planning, online marketing, print & design, and database management. This is an exciting opportunity to build and gain experience across the broad marketing mix at a leading barristers’ chambers in London. The successful applicant will be a proactive communicator with the ability to work under pressure to deadlines, have excellent attention to detail and a positive attitude.
 
The ideal candidate would be a recent graduate with some previous legal, professional services or marketing experience.
 
The salary for the position is in the region of £18,000 to £20,000, plus a non-refundable travel ticket advance. A performance related bonus and other benefits will be available on satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period.

Further information:

Essential - all of the following:
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs, grade C or above (or equivalent), including English language and maths
  • Demonstrable interest in pursuing a career in marketing
  • IT Literate – advanced skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills and an ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Experience of administrative work (ideally including diary management and note taking)
  • Neatness, accuracy and a high attention to detail, including basic proof-reading
  • A calm, patient approach to work in a very busy environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and clients over the telephone, by email and in person• Ability to work unsupervised on regular tasks and ensure that they are completed on time
  • Physically fit to the standard required for manual handling
  • Ability to be flexible around working times, including attending occasional evening events/seminars/conferences
 
Desirable – one of more of the following:
  • A level or Degree educated or equivalent
  • Experience of organising events
  • Basic knowledge of the legal industry and ability to understand the structure of a barristers’ chambers
  • Advanced level IT Skills
  • Basic knowledge of html editing & design software (InDesign, Photoshop)
