Our client is a Leading Common Law Chambers specialising in Employment & Discrimination, Professional Discipline, Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence, Product Liability, Environment, Health & Safety and Public Inquiries, members also specialise in ADR / Mediation.
 
Responsible to the Senior Clerk and Marketing Committee and working closely with the members of chambers and clerking team, the role is to analyse current work and trends and to identify potential clients and seek out new opportunities. The individual will also be responsible for the creation, development and implementation of business development plans and strategies as well as pro-active management of Chambers’ publicity and marketing.
 

The Role

 
The BDM will be responsible for developing detailed and practical annual plans for business development and marketing and take responsibility for driving and implementing these plans.
 
As well as the analysis of Chambers’ business and work sources, the individual will be expected to prepare and deliver reports for use by Special Interest Groups, The Senior Clerk and Marketing and Chambers Meetings.
 
The role will undertake effective market research and identify possible future clients leading to the development of new and existing business.
 
The person will provide detailed and ongoing assessment as to the impact of Chambers’ marketing and business development events and initiatives.
 
The BDM will have responsibility for managing the development of client relations in new areas of work as well as the management of Chambers’ Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
 
The individual will be responsible for Chambers’ social media output and platforms, including production of content. They will also design and implement a social media strategy.
 
They will work closely with and assist members, the Senior Clerk and the Administration Team with the management of Chambers’ client events and seminars.
 

The Person

 
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and possess experience of business development and or marketing in a legal or other professional services environment.
 
You will have the ability to research and analyse data and markets in order to identify trends and opportunities.
 
You will be able to manage and coordinate a diverse range of business and marketing activities in accordance with planned timetables and strategies and deliver these to budget.
 
You have the ability to develop and maintain excellent internal and external relationships with members, staff and clients and other stakeholders (e.g. directories/ press).
 
You will be a first rate communicator and be able to produce persuasive and effective written and oral communications and you are meticulous on the detail.
 
You have experience of developing and implementing business plans and strategies and delivering these to budget.
 
You will be able to demonstrate a record of business delivery and that you are business minded and commercially aware.
